Drug Crimes Bail Bonds

Trusted Bonding Agent For Drug Crimes

Drug crimes can be considered a violation to state law, federal law or both. If Florida drug laws don’t conflict with federal law, they may be more narrow in focus and have shorter sentencing guidelines. If you’ve been arrested for a drug crime, you want to work with a bonding agent who is professional and trustworthy. Roundtree Bonding Agency has written bail bonds throughout North and Central Florida since 1956. We're different from other bonding agencies because we’ll never return someone to jail for not completely paying a bond. These are five examples of common drug crimes in Florida.

Drug Paraphernalia

Drug paraphernalia has a broad definition. It refers to anything that is used to hide, inhale, inject, prepare, or produce drugs. Common examples include bongs, chillums, hypodermic needles and syringes, roach clips, rolling papers, and pipes used for smoking cocaine and marijuana. Many types of drug paraphernalia are designed to appear to have legal purposes. Depending on its appearance and where it was purchased, an item with a “For tobacco use only” label may be considered drug paraphernalia.

Drug Dealing

The distinction between drug dealing and drug trafficking can vary from state to state. Drug dealing usually refers to the sale of drugs on a smaller scale than drug trafficking and with less severe penalties as a result. Yet, you may be charged with drug dealing if you have more than a specified amount in your possession at the time of arrest.

Drug Possession

In Florida, drug possession charges occur when a controlled substance is likely held for personal use. Whether the charge is a misdemeanor or a felony depends on the amount and type of drug involved. Possession of any illegal controlled substance, such as cocaine, is a crime under state and federal laws. A charge for simple possession is usually for a small quantity of drugs. A larger amount may lead to charges of possession with the intent to distribute and more. It is possible to also be charged with drug paraphernalia at the same time as drug possession.

Drug Trafficking

Drug trafficking is the importation, selling, and transporting of any illegal controlled substance, but it also includes illegal distribution of prescription drugs. It’s a first-degree felony under Florida law and has a range of penalties depending on the type and amount of drug. Some drug trafficking charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence. Federal and state laws often apply to trafficking charges.

If a friend or family member has been charged with drug trafficking in Florida, you want the help of a bonding agency known for its professionalism with every client, Roundtree Bonding Agency.

Drug Manufacturing & Delivery

If you’re involved in any part of the production process of an illegal controlled substance, you may be charged with drug manufacturing. Federal and state laws also make it a crime to deliver any illegal drug. The penalties are dependent on the type of drug as specified by Florida law and any other activities related to manufacturing and delivery.

If a friend or family member is required to post bail before being released from jail on drug charges, they may need a cosigner for bail bond. By cosigning, you’re responsible for the full amount of the bail bond.
